Travel Information of Bhutan

Bhutan Visa:
All visitors traveling to Bhutan are required to obtain a visa. No foreign mission abroad grants Bhutan tourist visa. Visa application must reach Bhutan at least three weeks prior to arrival date for processing.

Advance Payment:
Tour payments must be made one month prior to the date of arrival in Bhutan and the government issues the visa only after the receipt of full tour payment.

Traveling in Bhutan:
All tourists (groups or individuals) must travel on a pre- planned prepaid guided, package tour or custom designed program through a government registered travel company. Those who have not had a visa approval will not be permitted to board Druk Air flight. 

Druk Air (Royal Bhutan Airlines)
As required by government visitors must travel into Bhutan by Royal Bhutan Airlines (Druk Air) Entry is permitted only by Druk Air into Paro.

Clothing:
Cotton clothes are sufficient from May until September but warm clothes are very much necessary from November to the end of April. However, visitors are advised to carry clothes consisting of layers (preferably woolen sweater and jacket) throughout the season, as weather may change at anytime.
